Summer Program Director

 

Do you have the ability to lead, supervise and disciple high school and college age individuals as they strive to grow spiritually and minister to campers? If this characterizes you, then you may want be one of Victory Ministries' summer directors!

 
 

Program Director
The Program Director position is the ultimate opportunity for those that would like to take camping ministry to the next level in their lives. As a director, you will oversee all aspects of Camp Li-Wa or one of Victory’s camps (Alpine, Frontier, Ranch, or S.A.L.T). You will be challenged greatly as you lead college age counselors, discipling them and encouraging their spiritual growth. You will be responsible for planning schedules, organizing game times and handling camper discipline. Victory desires individuals who have a heart for camping ministry and a desire to see both campers and staff draw closer to the Lord. Applicants must have one year of college or work and should have some previous camping experience.

Ministry Team Director (VBC)
The Ministry Team Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ministry team. In this position, you will coordinate the daily firesides for kids’ camp and junior/senior high camp, work with program directors in setting up firesides and plan ministry team practices. Victory desires someone who loves to see spiritual truth taught through the arts, has a passion for ministering to children and youth and is eager to oversee and spiritually challenge a staff of six to eight individuals. Applicant must have at least one year of college or work completed. Previous drama or worship leading experience helpful.

Waterfront Director (VBC and Li-Wa)
The Waterfront Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the waterfront. Through this position, you will have the opportunity to show Christ’s love through fun at the waterfront! You will plan schedules for a staff of 2-3, be an active life guard, do waterfront maintenance and drive ski boat. Applicant must have at least one year of college or work completed and possess an American Red Cross Lifeguard training certificate, Professional Rescuer CPR and First Aid cards, or be willing to come to Victory a week early and certify for all of these.

Counselor

 

Has the Lord given you a passion to minister to youth in a camp setting? Summer camp is a proven way both to introduce campers to Jesus Christ and to disciple those who already know Him! Victory Ministries’ desire is that every camper move one step closer to Christ, and we are looking for godly, passionate, committed young people who are willing to give of their summer to be used in a great way by the Lord here at Victory. Camp Li-Wa Counselor
At Camp Li-Wa, you have the opportunity of experiencing a smaller camp setting where you will truly unite with both your fellow staff members and your campers. Being a Camp Li-Wa counselor involves leading an interactive Bible study each day and getting to know your campers through activities such as the climbing wall, horse rides, group games, paddle boats, etc. Each day is brought to a close by a time around the campfire where spiritual truths are taught and will leave you with great opportunities to discuss them with your campers. Li-Wa desires mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for youth and a true desire to disciple. Counselors must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed.

Alpine Camp Counselor at VBC
As an Alpine Counselor you kick off each day by leading a cabin Bible study with the junior or senior high campers that will be in your cabin. From there, you move on to teaching or assisting exciting skill clubs such as waterskiing, blobbing, canoeing, dodge ball, archery, riflery, etc. The opportunities will be endless for interaction with campers as you supervise and hang out with them throughout the day. You can launch them off the blob, ride with them on the banana boat or just get to know them over a soda and candy bar! Huge group games and exciting speakers will top off each night leaving you with time to reminisce about the day’s activities. Victory needs mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for youth and a true desire to disciple. Counselors must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed.

Frontier Camp Counselor at VBC
Frontier Counselors have the privilege of working with the younger campers that come to Victory. As a Frontier Counselor, you will daily lead a Bible study with the 2 nd- 6 th grade campers, participate or lead skill activities like crafts, canoeing, archery, riflery and top off each day by joining your campers for a time of puppet shows, mimes, dramas and fun songs. An abundance of activities provide opportunities to have fun and get to know your campers through paddle boat rides, group games, banana boating or even face painting. Frontier also offers the housing options of a cabin or a genuine Sioux teepee. Victory is seeking mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for children. Counselors must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed.

Ranch Camp Counselor at VBC
Like no other camp at Victory, Ranch Camp incorporates horsemanship into the program in addition to all the other great activities. At Ranch Camp, you will counsel junior or senior high campers in a smaller setting at one of the most beautiful locations on Victory’s property. The CHA certified wranglers take care of the horsemanship, while your job involves teaching daily Bible studies, participating in crazy group games, blobbing and banana boating at the waterfront and joining your campers on an overnight camp out. You will top off each night by worshipping with your campers and hearing a message from the camp speaker. Victory is looking for mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for youth and a true desire to disciple. Counselors must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed.

S.A.L.T. Program Counselor at VBC
In the S.A.L.T. (Servant and Leadership Training) program, you will work and play right alongside the high-schoolers you are ministering to. The S.A.L.T. program is specially designed for campers who are eager to become better leaders and also willing to serve behind the scenes at Victory. As their counselor, your responsibilities include teaching daily Bible studies, challenging your campers in areas of leadership and displaying mature Christian leadership yourself. Not to worry, you will have plenty of interaction time with the campers through activities like dodge ball, banana boating, blobbing, tundra rolling, crazy campfires and just hanging out together. Victory desires mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for high-schoolers and a true desire to disciple. Counselors must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed.

Program Assistant (Camp Li-Wa and VBC)
The Program Assistant is perfect for any high-schoolers seeking to serve God in a camp setting. As a P.A., you get to work under a counselor and participate in all of the great activities of camp like blobbing, banana boating, archery, riflery, canoeing and crafts while ministering to the campers. Victory is seeking mature, responsible, young people who have a deep love for children and a passion for the Lord. Program Assistant’s must be 16 years of age.

Ministry Team

 

Victory Bible Camp’s ministry team provides the opportunity for those that are gifted or even just interested in the arts to share their talent for the glory of God. As a member of the ministry team, you will impact campers through puppet shows, dramas, mimes or even the worship band. Drama (VBC)
As a part of the Ministry team in the area of drama, you will show Christ’s love for the campers through participating in and planning meaningful chapel times, crazy puppet shows, moving mimes and challenging skits. For this position, Victory is seeking a mature individual who has a passion to display biblical truths through the arts. Ministry team members must be 16 years of age. Drama gifts are helpful but not necessary.

Worship (VBC)
The worship band is responsible simply for leading the campers in a time of sincere worship. As a member of the band, you will help plan exciting evening chapel times and have fun praising the Lord and leading campers in praise of the Lord. Ministry team members must be 16 years of age. Vocal or instrumental gifts are helpful but not necessary.

Wrangler

 

Horses are one of the greatest tools Victory Ministries uses to bring Christ to campers. If God has given you a passion for horses and you would like to use that passion to minister to campers, the wrangler position is for you! As a wrangler, you will be challenged and fulfilled in teaching horsemanship to campers and sharing biblical truth through that teaching. You will also have a blast leading exciting trail rides, training horses and doing stable maintenance. Previous experience is desired, and the CHA instructor and trail certification provided by Victory is required.

 
 
Wrangler (Camp Li-Wa and VBC)
Includes teaching horsemanship (using CHA standards), leading trail rides, training young horses, re-training older horse, stable maintenance, etc. Applicant must be interested in using horses to share biblical truths. CHA instructor and trail certification required and are provided by Victory Ministries. Previous experience desired. Applicant must be 18 years of age and preferably have one year of college or work completed. Current standard First Aid and CPR cards desirable.

Maintenance

 

If you work well with your hands and desire to use your gifts in ministry, check out the maintenance department. It takes an abundance of volunteers to keep camp facilities running smoothly and we need your help to do that! Your work in the maintenance department allows others to focus solely on ministering to campers.

Nurse

 

The position of nurse could arguably be the most important at Victory Ministries! Victory is in need of qualified nurses who have a passion both for helping campers with physical ailments and for loving them with Christ’s love. As a nurse, you would have the joy of administering first aid to campers and staff as needed. Other duties are distributing prescriptions at the appropriate time, caring for the sick, and interviewing campers before their week of camp begins. A camp nurse is on call 24 hous a day 6 days a week.

Includes interviewing each camper at the start of the week checking their general health, checking the medications sent by the parents. see that the first aid needs of the campers and staff. To see to the needs of those who are sick.

Lifeguard

 

Victory Ministries uses many waterfront activities in ministering to campers and lifeguards are a key to that ministry. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for guarding campers in one of the several waterfront areas, implementing the swim test for campers and using any opportunities available to share Christ’s love with campers. Whether you have your lifeguard certificate, or are a good swimmer and would like to get it, consider serving at Victory!

Responsible for lifeguarding for campers on Victory's Index Lake waterfront. Applicant must be 16 years of age, and have a desire to minister to campers through lifeguarding. Tech Team

 

Victory’s tech team is for those who have skills or are interested in videos and pictures. As a part of the Tech Team, you will serve the Lord by making crazy, fun, spiritually challenging videos that are shown each evening at chapel time. You will also have fun and be challenged videoing daily camp activities, putting together highlight videos that will enthrall campers, snapping pictures of camp each day and assembling DVD’s and picture CD’s from the week for campers to take home. Victory desires individuals who are eager to love campers through the tool of technology. Previous experience is helpful; applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

Prayer Partner

 

God is at the center of Victory Ministries and prayer is the way God has chosen for us to communicate to Him. Being a prayer partner is the perfect chance to be part of Victory Ministries without even leaving home. Victory has a program called 500 for 5 and the goal is to find 500 people who will pray for at least 5 minutes a day. Victory will update you regularly on the current prayer request of the ministry and we ask that you spend at least (but not limited to) five minutes a day praying for these requests.
