Your Opportunity to Impact People of Interior Alaska
Campers need to relocate from this obsolete summer dining hall, to this proposed new building! Adult groups will be able to expand from a crowded dining room to a larger facility.
Retreat groups which have outgrown Camp Li-Wa will be able to return. Larger state-wide groups may be accommodated. This will not only impact these groups, but open up new opportunities of outreach to Alaskans!
It is very likely that you or someone you love has been influenced positively through the work of Victory Ministries of Alaska and possibly at Camp Li-Wa. Literally thousands of lives have been transformed for Jesus Christ through the camps.
An Open Challenge
The challenge is to replace the old summer dining facilities with a structure for up to 215 people. This need is urgent because the old dining hall has been given one more summer (2011) by a structural engineer. By 2012 another dining facility needs to be in place. An architectural building plan is near completion, and Kiewit Construction has partnered with us as general contractor. Though Kiewit is not financially underwriting this project, they are seeking in kind subcontracting partners for the project as well as volunteer workers.
To break ground in 2011, prayer partners and $750,000 in contributions will be needed for Phase I. These capital expenses must be funded through donations. Income from camper fees goes directly for the operational costs of running camps. The Living Water Lodge project will only be undertaken as funds are available.
This is one of the most exciting opportunities ever for those who love the ministry at Camp Li-Wa. God is continuing to use this facility in the lives of people. Will you ask God for discernment to know how you can partner with Him to share the good news to future generations that will attend Camp Li-Wa?
